Casai: a design ideology from 1 to 40 units

How to create a design system that provides strategic value for our business, units, and guests?

As Head of Design of an hospitality and prop-tech startup company, the first challenge I had was to create a strategy to implement a strong and consistent design concept across the portfolio, considering the uniqueness of the properties. Creating an efficient and replicable design ideology, with an efficient implementation process, was the top priority during the initial phase of the company. It needed to be aligned with the different goals and business needs to succeed when time was a key factor in the equation.

Working in a hyper-growth hospitality firm in LATAM, with big plans to expand across the region, it was important to ensure a valuable, strong and unique design aesthetic as part of the differentiators of the brand.

How do we balance a consistent brand aesthetic when each location and property is different?
