Victorian Retreat - Case Study
This case study was developed in the lapse of a week in early 2023. With a focus on creating a strong interior design proposal for a Victorian style house in the heart of San Francisco, the goal was to deliver a project that was refined and inviting for a family of 5 that loves to entertain.
The living room area consists on a shared space with the dining room. The areas has a vaulted ceiling with tongue and groove that covers both spaces. With an iconic fireplace location, the room is enhanced by good natural lighting and multiple entrances from different rooms of the house.
With a pre-defined budget, my objective was to use the danish concept of Hygge as inspiration to elaborate a proposal were the most important aspect was delivering an inviting design proposal that facilitates a constant interaction between the family and the guests at all times. Studying the layout and creating a functional distribution that could enable the users to fully enjoy the space together even when the space has it’s limitations. Also, I wanted to deliver a proposal that could enhance every single characteristic of the pre-existing architecture of the space.
The project included all the conceptual proposal for the space, from project feasibility, layout analysis, mood board, look & feel, color palette, FF&A selection, budgeting, floor plans, sections and isometrics to fully delivery a strong viable proposal that could transform the space.
